Kenwood KT-7500
The Kenwood KT-7500 is an upper-range vintage stereo FM/AM tuner from the late 1970s.
The FM front end has a 5-gang variable capacitor. The following amplification circuit incorporates five 10.7MHz ceramic IF filters and supports Wide and Narrow band settings. The HA1137W IC is used for FM signal detection, and the HA1196 handles FM MPX stereo decoding. Two L79-0027-05 low-pass filters are used to remove high-frequency noise from the audio signal. A relay is used at the audio output to prevent unwanted noise when the tuner is switched on or off, as well as when switching between AM and FM modes.
The KT-7500 features a clean and well-organized internal construction. The bottom cover can be removed for easy servicing. Overall reception is great, and the soundstage is excellent. Visual appearance is classic, with a large tuning knob in the center and straightforward controls.
